Abstract

Descriptions of puparia and third instar cephalopharyngeal skeletons of Graptomyza mitis Curran & Bryan 1926, G. signata (Walker 1860), and G. triangulifera (Bigot 1883) are given. The rearing data and the feeding habits of these species are discussed. Feeding habits and mouthpart morphology reveal that members of the genus are saprophagous and that G. mitis may use filter feeding as a means of mycetophagy.
