Abstract
The critique of Forest School as detailed in my article A critique of Forest School: something lost in translation (Leather, 2018) emerged as a pivotal moment in my academic journey, offering an opportunity to reflect deeply on the evolution and implications of this pedagogical approach. Grounded in a mix of professional practice, critical inquiry, and a personal ethos of questioning received wisdom, this critique sought to provoke reflection and dialogue within the broader field of outdoor education.
