Abstract
In 2025, Plymouth Marjon University was commissioned by Plymouth City Council (PCC) to undertake research on attendance, focusing on: • The key factors influencing school attendance • The main challenges that affect school attendance • The school-based enablers that support attendance • The parental/carer actions that help students attend school. The research sought to understand attendance from the perspectives of both students and parents/carers and comprised two surveys: one for students and one for parents/carers.
