Abstract
This chapter addresses main current feminist mixed methods research (FMMR) approaches to embrace a deep, holistic analysis of richly diverse data sources. Feminist research embraces the exploration of empowerment, autonomy, and independence of individuals' told and untold experiences. Feminist research acknowledges the importance of different interpretations that inform the significance of power, reflexivity, and ethics of society. Rather than pedagogues sharing their accumulated knowledge with students, feminist pedagogues co-construct knowledge. Drawing on wider social impacts of research/er norms and conventions, the feminist approach supports a varied contextualised response to mixed methods research (MMR) in education. A detailed exploration of feminist standpoint theory and MMR illustrates how knowledge is embedded in society, including an inquiry into individuals’ unique experiences, providing a backdrop to share richly varied perspectives of marginalised, disrespected, and oppressed groups, including women, and their shared stories informing practical empowerment to identify improvements for inequalities resonant within feminist MMR.
